This talk takes a look at the ways blockchain technology can reshape how markets function, replacing vertical, siloed-markets with horizontal (flat), open, n-sided, cross-sector marketplaces. It focuses on the potential of the technology across a broad number of use cases, and takes a deep dive into a few promising ones.

The evolution of tokens has gone from utility to one for security tokens. Analysis of what has been happening in the market for the past 12-18 months and the cryptoeconomic underpinning are looked into. Argument is made using the existing data and current trends that the next step in tokenisation would be mainstream adoption of security tokens. Arguments from cryptoeconomics are presented to back this up.

This talk is about why it becomes increasingly important that blockchain networks can talk to each other, and understand each other. The talk will provide a brief overview on approaches.

How blockchain is set to revolutionise the way in which companies operate - Fire side chat with Davide Casaleggio

Quantum computing is a new technological paradigm with the potential to generate fundamental changes in the way information is stored and processed. This is an approach based on one of the pillars of modern physics, quantum mechanics, applying some of its fundamental properties in new computer architectures. A discontinuity that could have important applications in medical research, telecommunications, artificial intelligence, finance and defense technology: new types of drugs, cryptographic systems, simulations of complex natural systems and other categories of problems could potentially be addressed trough this technological wave. After two decades of basic and applied research, today we are witnessing a phase of technology transfer and go to market: venture capital funds, large companies and governments are starting to invest significant amounts in the sector. The innovation curve is experiencing an important acceleration, as well as its political and economic implications.

AR Adds a New Dimension to Financial Trading and Analysis - AR changes the financial world as we know it. AR/MR-assisted trading and data analysis platforms empower traders and investors with advanced technology.

This presentation will dive into the rising complexity of connectivity. This complexity is driven by the requirements from both enterprises and individuals that must be constantly “plugged in” as well as the many “things” that now require some type of connectivity. Covered will be an update on smart cities, smart buildings and the most current connectivity deployment trends. Come away with a better understanding of why the infrastructure matters to business - specifically how optimizing and intelligently managing your connectivity will create efficiencies and reduce cost. Learn about the role that Automated Infrastructure Management paired with Augmented Reality is predicted to play in the future of structured cabling and the eco system that surrounds connectivity. Augmented Reality is poised to do great things to make our cities and our buildings smarter, more efficient, and more intelligent.

How disruptive innovations are changing HealthCare, an industry historically less affected by the transformative impacts of technologies. Digital health, powered by Genomic, Blockchain and AI, is a human imperative for the overall improvement of Healthcare system, for a better quality Patients deserve. A more informed and aware Patient is now at the center of the overall digital ecosystem, with remote & personalized services «around» & «beyond» the pill.

AI has the potential to be a valuable ally in the fight against financial crime. Know-your-customer (KYC) processes are heavy in manual processing and involve the reading of large numbers of documents. Human cognitive capability is ill suited to such tedious document tasks, leading to errors. Deep learning technology shows promise in the automation of repetitive document processing of this nature. Martin Goodson and Mark St. John Qualter share the results of a yearlong feasibility study on the introduction of AI into the onboarding process at the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). Along the way, Martin and Mark share their experiences in translating this complex business process into a high-performance computational system. The study found that AI allows tasks to be performed that would be impossible using a manual process. AI also enables a large financial services firm to capitalize on its legacy data effectively, transforming it into a strategic asset. The study also showed that defining evaluation metrics that accurately track progress toward desired business objectives can be an unexpected challenge.

Let's meet at the Food Area for drink and nice chats.

Innovation Room

How artificial intelligence is going to disrupt how marketers will do their jobs today.

How immersive computing is going to disrupt che corporate learning & development industry. Proven effective since the age of Confucius and Aristotle, its only from the beginning of last century that Experiential Learning became scalable within military environments, thanks to the advent of computer aided simulators. But today a new paradigm shift is on the way, allowing simulation and digital learning to finally distrupt the corporate learning & development market. Corporations are forced by the unsettling pace of market innovation to continuously look for more effective ways of skilling and reskilling their employees; at the same time, obsessed by financial results, top lines are continously requesting down the ladder to provide larger savings on non-sales-related functions. In this scenario, the impact of low-cost XR devices, the evolution of AI, and the spread of high speed connectivity are bound to completely reshape the way companies and institutions train their workforce. New remote collaboration platforms will emerge, and instructional designers will need to rethink their learning paradigms, taking into account the strong emotional impact of the new technology, and the need of (finally) applying gamification techniques to their designs.

Augmented Reality technologies, used with a thoughtful approach and in the appropriate way, constitutes an exciting field to be explored to discover new paradigms to represent, explore and analyze data. For the new Starbucks Roastery in Milan, Accurat has designed an AR app which enriches the in-store experience and allows the brand to narrate its story and identity in an unconventional and engaging way.

Robotics and VR have a huge potential to be used hand-in-hand e.g. for improving manufacturing with a human-curated robot training.
